I live in sw minnesota  and I was looking to go fishing this weekend  i normaly head to the willmar area  but it is only a little further to head towards mankato or windom  I want to try a new lake and was wondering if anyone had any sudgestions or ideas any ideas or info would be apreciated

All I know is mankato area is very very very slow! Went to 3 dofferetn lakes today and never really found any decent bites. lots of little perch.

I would just suggest taking a lake maps book and find some un touched water by windom area and give it a whirl.
Sorry I wish I could be more of a help, They are dragging nets on German so I can't even suggest to go there :cry:

i would sceond not going around mankato there is not much going aronund here ffrom what i saw yesterday also but if you do still head this way say very very mobil !~!!!!!! i got on fish once yeaterday and was on them for about 3 minnets and that was it and was not able to find them agin ......might of been becouse i was stuck  :mysterymachine:

Well I decided to go north again and it was about the same there as you guys were saying for down there  put in 12 hours fishing on 3 different lakes 2 tanks of gas through the auger and only managed to bring home 6 crapies but trying to figure out a where to go try tomorrow now and I think it will be another long day

my best advise would start on the fastest drops around the deepens holes! Thats where I have been finding fish but to get them to bite is a whole different story! I have tried everything from little diamond jigs to big jiggin raps to plastice and have only managed a few fish. smallest minnow on a little moon shape red glow jig has been best with green glow comming in 2nd. hope that helps and remember its always nice to see pics of whatever you catch!
