Got this email from my father.  Not sure if it's real or not but still impressive.

Not one doe in the bunch.  They can hardly say they practice QDM.   :whistling:

Probably another meat pole from that island in Michigan somewhere where they have a hunt club and only used to harvest 150" deer and better. They had an over-population of really small 8's and 10's and started harvesting them a few years back to try and improve the overall buck/doe ratio. There have been a few e-mails of meat pole's from them circulating the last few years.

This may not be from that particular island or hunt club, but sure seems about the same.

Marry an outdoors woman. Then if you throw her out into the yard on a cold night, she can still survive.

The email said they group hunted in the Plover, Wi area; just south of Stevens Point.

If you look closely, a few are holding signs that say first deer.

only on an outdoor website does a title "meat pole" not scare me.

I was a bit scared to click on this topic.....  :doah:

-- That is an impressive picture, but I bet you are right, its from some hunting island thing - I got an email about it a few years back.  Crazy how many bucks are running around!
I would also say that isnt true QDM as well, no does.... should have sprinkled some in the mix, or else they just dont look good hanging with all the bucks  :deer:

deadeye.. last thing I need is my wife walking up behind me while I'm on the internet and see i'm in a chat room discussing a meat pole... she'ld tell all my brothers and before I know it this will be coming up for years and years.

nice deer wonder if it was a outing at some kind of "game preserve" or something like that I'm too skeptical to think that some guys on grandpa's old farm did this

Didn't they (DNR) find out that some were illegally harvested?     I want to say too many deer and not enough tags.

I changed the title just for you "cowboy".... that's a "Brokeback Mtn" reference for you.  :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I think it was enought tags, not all of them on the deer though.

I think the story on that second pic is that it was an island and they lost their lease after 20 years and wanted to clear it out so they invited everyone they new to smoke a buck. and I think your right there were some tag violations, like not validating or not enough tags...

I'm not sure how many fenced hunts in are WI.     I do know of one that is south of Fond du Lac right off of Hwy 41 towards Milwaukee.  This guy has folks pay top dollar to hunt it.  Brett Favre and Troy Aikman have been on "guided hunts" there.  Something like a minimum 150 score with huge financial penalties if smaller.

I may be a minority here.  I have been guilty of picking out the hens and molting drakes on our legally taken waterfowl to take a better picture of our group hunt. Never gave it a thought.  There very well may be another x amount of does filling out their  legal tags that were not included in the picture.  If they were poached in any way I would say throw the book at them.  This doesn't seem to be the case.  Just a bunch of guys that did well.  I don't have a problem with that.  All of them together looks like excess.  It's not.    If everyone in the party fills their tag is it bad?  The only assumption I am making is that it is all legal.   Good for them!

This wouldn't be so contraversial (sp) if there was a pic of how ever many guys standing there before the hunt with a tag in one hand and a beer in the other....but how cool of a pic would that make? My .02.
