Deer rifle sight in, list your favorite range here.

With the opener looming near, many are looking for a place to shoot thier rifles,hand guns or smoke poles.

Please list your favorite club to shoot at, and give info on cost per gun,yardage available, and what you like about the service there.

Please try not to repeat to many times, so the thread doesn't get super huge.

I will try to keep a list at the start of the thread , but it might be to much to ask.

I use Beaverbrook gun club in East Bethel.
They charge $8 per gun, for as long as it takes to get you sighted in.

Bore sighting is $3, and ear protection is $.50.

They have 25,50, and 100 yard berms with 10 stations to use.
They have lots of volinteers around to help you, and have some very knolegable people there.

They change targets regularly, and run a very safe and fun range to shoot at.

Opens Saturday and Sundays  September 30th till weekend before opener.

Take HWY 65 North to Klondike Drive, go East one mile then follow signs to the left and go all the way back to the little old shack.

the itasca gun club, just north of grand rapids is the closest, nicest location we have around here.
there is the deer river sportsmans club a little closer, but it is not as nice of a set up.
benchs targets and spotters. enough to get the job done for only a couple bucks a gun.

with gates popping up at all my old gravel pit locations nowdays, we are being pushed into these gun ranges. funny how they can close off public land. the more they close off these areas, the less public land is available for public use, the more our taxes will go down right??

 ??? after all that was said, i guess the back 40 may still be the best place to keep the bean shooters in site. no one to help out, but no distractions either. the price is not all that bad as it goes towards the taxes and keeps the place open to the friendly public! ranges go out to 300 yds! the range is located 3 miles east of brainerd on hwy. 18. :)

Sorry guys, the only places I have ever zeroed in my gun, is on our own 150acer or the 20acer cabin place.

 Not much help, am I?

 I do understand there are a couple of places working on a ranges in the McGregor area

 One was at Loren Willey's place down by Lawler and the other was at the Minnewawa Sportsman Club rang also by Lawler..south of McGregor

 This might help some of you out around the Big Sandy/Minnewawa area.

 Is that place called Moon Valley(I think) still open?

 It's in the Bloomington, Shakopee. Chaska area, if I remember right

For me it's the nearest gravel pit. The local gun club is only 6 miles away but I drive by 4 pits on the way there. The price is the same either way as the club don't charge for sightins.

I am not sure on Moon Valley, I last heard it was closed due to housing devlopment though.

Well I don't own any rifles, but I do have a muzzleloader that I like to take out to the range once or twice a year. I go to Oakdale gun club.

minnewawa sportsman club in mcgregor 15 bucks a person 20 bucks for a family

Bills Gun Shop indoor range, $20 for as long as you like and as many weapons as you want.

It is located in Robinsdale, but they only allow non magnum rifles and only have a 25 yard range.


Forest Lake Gun Club, Forest lake MN.
25 to 400 yard ranges, $12 per gun one free target.

I heard Oak Dale is now $10. per gun and have a nice range set up.
