It’s been another good week of fishing. Most of our houses are situated out deep still in 32-35’ of water. The area we are fishing seems to be holding a good school of shiners. Where the shiners go the Walleyes follow! We are still seeing a good number of Walleyes in the 14-18” range with many guests getting the opportunity to put back some of the coveted slot fish. The Sauger bite continues to be good on numbers. Some days you can get the 14-15” fish, other days it’s a challenge to get 12-13” fish for the dinner table. Any lures that glow have been hot, especially red/pink, but orange, silver, or a clown pattern has also been good. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the flasher for those suspended Walleyes. They are usually hungry!

We have been measuring around 2 feet of ice for the last couple of weeks now.This weekend mother nature brought us some snow/sleet mix. Not sure how it will affect off road vehicle travel this next week. Temperatures are predicted to drop into the single digits for the middle of the upcoming week, before rebounding into the upper teens for the weekend. Sometimes the fish seemed to be bothered by the weather, but it’s no concern for us! Guests can expect a pleasant ride in the bombers and a warm fish house regardless!
