Yesterday, a wonderful client couple and I took a tour of lakes in the Pine City (river fed), through Rush City, Harris and Rush Point areas. Cross Lake, Pokegama, Rush Lake, and Goose Lake..and found that though all area lakes are down, Rush Lake takes the trophy at approximately 3 feet below average high water.  What is funny, is that this year is producing some of the largest, hungriest fish on record also!

Last week, it took three large men to pull in a beautiful 54" muskie, take a picture, and put him back in for someone else to enjoy!  The photo would be great, if the photographer could figure out how to get it e mailed off his phone!  We are working on that!

Walleye seem to be immensely hungry this year, striking at 12' along with the sunfish, and crappies are lounging around the docks with the bass..and odd couple! This is a year to get the kids interested in fishing, and many smart grandparents are doing just that!  Easy catches of nicely sized panfish are gracing many a dinner table, and making the memories that last a lifetime.

The shorelines are not helping the sales of lakehomes with typically beautiful views, boat houses sit high and dry off of their ramps, ramps sit suspended above water.  One home which will be listed next week actually had a boat sitting grounded in the muck, in an area I know has usually flooded over the only high spot at that end of the lake.  It would appear nature is helping make this a buyers market on the lakes!
