The deer started to hit my mineral licks in Jan. and I will be freshening them in 2 weeks when I get back up to the land.  The bucks started before they even lost their antlers.  sconihunter, what type of minerals do you use, or do you make your own?
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

I just put out rock salt.....
It's cheaper, and the deer like it.

I put out a variety of mineral bags, blocks and salt.  Some places I put a salt block and dump a mineral bag on the ground.  I like to put the stuff on old tree stumps.  I think we have around 8 different mineral locations.
***I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.***

I've been using Uncle Kurt's Deer Mineral for years now.  It's just as good as antler king, lucky buck, trophy rock, whitetail institute, if not better. Not to mention it is less expensive and made locally in WI.  I have seen great results in antler growth.

DeerCane is what I use and it works but so does the 50lb salt licks I get from Fleet Farm every yr.
Let the small bucks walk. Don't assume the neighbors will shoot them if you don't. If you shoot him what chance does that buck have to grow......ZERO!

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.  If
you can't eat it or hump it.

Piss on it and walk away
