I think that we are finally ready. We have been working on getting ready for the past 4 weeks it seems like. We have never been able to turn on the water before the 25th of April and this year it was the 5th of April. Well at least some of the water anyway. I was unpleasantly surprised to have one of the wells that feeds half of the resort, is now dry. It has had a long and productive life since 1966 but its days where numbered up here in this clay type soil. If it isn’t tied down, bolted down or cemented down, the frost will surely push it out of the ground, which is just what happened to this well casing. Of course, it just has to happen rite out of the gate when there is a lot of start up cash flowing out the door. So we have been dealing with that for the past 2 weeks hoping that we can get the well diggers here in time. You can’t just drill a well anymore. There are all kinds of red tape with the state and the inspector, so this should be interesting to say the least with less than two weeks until the opener. But what would I do without lots of stress in my life anyway, relax? We will getter done one way or another. It was really nice to have the boys come down from Duluth and lend a hand the past couple of weekends, with my foot being what it is right now, I am limited to the amount of pressure I can put on it. They where able to get the docks and boat lifts in and get the boat ramp in. on Saturday we had some friends stop in and help out with the Bar & grill to get that all spiffy and clean and then Patty had a wedding shower to attend to on Saturday so while she was gone the boys and I got all of the cabins cleaned and wiped down, we even did all of the dishes and wiped down all of the walls and ceiling. I was very impressed with their willingness to clean to my standard, which most of you know are very high. So that was a lot of fun and we felt great that we were able to surprise her with it when she got home that evening. I want you to know how much patty and I appreciated it. Speaking of the foot, it is coming along just fine, I think that I have been pushing it a little bit to hard the past week, but I am so far so good on the repair and as soon as I can get rid of the healing and getting it back into shape pain, I should be fairly pain free for the first time in over 3 years. That is a great thing; chronic pain will change you inside and out. With that being said, we are ready for the season to begin and we just hope and pray that this year will be the year of the turn around in the resort industry and that others of you that have been hurting right along with us, have a better year also!

I still have a few cabins open for the opener Cabin #5 & Cabin #6 so give us a call at 320 532 3431 if you have changed your mind about the opener and i will give you a great deal on the cabins. With the way the weather has been, it should be a very nice opener as far as the weather is concerned and the bite will be good too!

Be safe

We will see ya
