Lake Geneva Report 6/8/07

Rain Rain Go Away was today's theme. It wasn't the first time that the Carlson's chose and booked a spring trip that included an all day rain. For whatever reason they just seem to have that knack. Today's action was sporadic to say the least. This time they decided to bring a pal Jim Bullock figuring why should they not share in this glorious moist spring weather with someone.

As if the rain wasn't enough the air temps seemed to have dropped as a chill began to set in. As far as the fishing goes we managed to hold our own on the bass even with the darn northern coming in to terrorize the area while cutting our lines a half dozen times. We worked hard covering Lee's milk run throughout the lake, but we weren’t able to put together a strong pattern. A game fish here and a game fish there. My guys were holding on to the memories of last spring on this same date when we hammered the bass. Unfortunately that was then and this is now!

Despite the lousy weather two of the crew members even continued to fish on the pier when I brought the boat into the dock. We almost had to pry the rod out of young Tim's hands to get him to stop fishing at days end. No big lunkers today so I decided not to risk dragging the camera out into the rain.

I'm sure we'll make up for the inclement weather outing since I have the Carlson boys back again this Friday and they refuse to be denied their Kodak moment. So, stay tuned for "Lee's Redemption" adventure report for Friday.

See ya on the water,

Lee
