DNR seeks comments on EAW for Two Harbors public water access reconstruction project
(Released June 17, 2010)

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is accepting public comments during the 30-day public review period from June 14 to July 14 on an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) that was prepared for a project to reconstruct the public water access located in Two Harbors.

The worksheet evaluates the environmental effects from a DNR proposal to reconstruct the existing public boat access at Agate Bay on Lake Superior to provide improvements including the three concrete launch ramps, a new launch ramp dock, a new kayak access dock/ramp, a crib dock, parking areas, Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility and a stormwater management system.

A copy of the EAW is available online at http://www.mndnr.gov/. Click on “Public Input”, then under the “Environmental Review” scroll-down list select “Two Harbors Public Water Access Reconstruction EAW.”  Additional copies may be requested by calling 651-259-5156.

A copy of the EAW is available for public review at:

DNR Library, 500 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, MN 55155.
DNR Regional Headquarters, 1201 E. Highway 2, Grand Rapids, MN 55744.
Minneapolis Public Library, Government Documents, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55401.
Duluth Public Library, 520 W Superior St., Duluth, MN 55802.
Two Harbors Public Library, 320 Waterfront Drive, Two Harbors, MN 55616-1534.
The EAW was published in the June 14 EQB Monitor. Written comments must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on July 14 to Randall Doneen, EAW project manager, Environmental Policy and Review Unit, Division of Ecological Resources, DNR, 500 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, MN 55155-4025.
