Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

I have to say evenings are the best for me.  I hunt the food source.  If I went in there in the morning, I would get busted.
Guess it depends on where your hunting.

Late morning for my biggest.  We jumped 4-5 deer one year leaving the woods and he came our way and the rest went to other.  Walked out on the old railroad grade and there he was walking towards us.  83yds away and he dropped.

I have shot bucks early in the am as well.  Usually catching them coming back from feeding and heading to their daytime beds.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.

Late morning or early afternoon. I tend to stay on stand for about 2 hours in the morning, go for about a half an hour walk, back on stand for another half hour. I go in for some grub at about 1030-1100 :coffee:.  I head straight back out and I always seem to catch them in transition . Everyone else is gone in for the afternoon and that's when I see the most movement/shoot the most deer.  :fudd: :deer:. I do see them the other times of the day but not as much that is for sure!!
Going South......in a manner of speaking!

thinking back I see the most movement in the mornings.. big deer the last 4 that we took are all over the board.. 1morning.. 1 mid morning..  1 afternoonish 1 as the sun went down.. the big boys are on no ones time but their own.

I gotta side with Beeker for the most part on this.... deer sightings as a whole, covers the whole time slot from begining of the day(even before the sun comes up) to the end of the day.... The big guys?  Only time ive had run ins early in the morning is when a front came thru/snowing out or with thick fog to hide in..... otherwise, the big guys sneek around us when we come in for lunch, etc. ... thats why they are big and old!(and alive) ;) :bonk:

I have gotten all my deer early in the morning, around 7 or 8.  I have had my tag filled the last 3 years by 9am.  Two years ago I shot a buck and a doe in the exact same spot (about an hour apart, it was pretty interesting.....)
So I have the best luck in the am -- hunting in the woods, between corn fields, so they are coming from eating to bedding!

i see way more deer in the am, but my biggest was shot in the pm. just before dark. like it was said before, there on there own time, especially during the rut. last year i had my buck by 6:33am and you could shoot at 6:32am

I have killed the most bucks between 9 and 11 AM.  I usually head in for lunch around 11:30 and back out by 2 or 3 pm.  I generally don't like to shoot a deer just before dark.  It's just a lot of work in the dark.  For me it takes a lot of the fun out of it because you are usually in a rush and then you can't stand around admiring the deer.  Maybe that's why I shoot more in the AM.  :rotflmao:
I must admit, the biggest deer I ever shot at was just before dark.
