I will be signing my daughter up for one of the gun youth hunts and have a few questions
1 Has anyone on here taken their kid on one of the hunts?
2 If so, how was the hunt?
3 which park will give my daughter the best chance of a fun hunt?
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

I haven't put any of my kids though the youth deer hunts, but have put them through the youth turkey hunts. It is a great experience for both the child and the parent / mentor. They get to learn about every asspect of the hunt from start to finish. The DNR officers give you insite on what they are looking for, plus they give you opertunities to ask questions. The hunts are guided, so the success rate is higher. They scout out the area prior to the hunts for you. Afterwards, they ussually have a lunch or dinner of sorts, so they can talk about how the hunt went. They ask what they liked or dis-liked about their experience. It also gives them a chance to do a little bragging....  :happy1:

I look forward to the day when I can take my children on a youth hunt.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.  If
you can't eat it or hump it.

Piss on it and walk away
