Got up this morning and my friend Andy met me at my house. We decided not to head out until 7 AM as we planned on handlining the river and when you do that, it doesn't really matter what time you get out. We got down to the river and started fishing around 7:45. Trolled our way up from the Prescott launch and through the main channel with no fish. Got north of the bridges a little ways and the fishing started. I was using a #5 Bleeding Chart Shad and a #7 Firetiger. Andy had on a Bleeding chart and a clown husky jerk. The bleeding chart was really producing today. So much so that I switch my firetiger over to a #7 Bleeding Chart. We each had a double on the line at one point and a few times each had at least one on at the same time. We caught some where between 20 and 30 sauger today, didn't see any walleye. We trolled around 1.7 to 2.5 mph the whole time. Ended up coming home with 12 sauger in the box between 14 and 17 inches. Nice day on the water for sure.

Pleasure boats started coming out in droves around 9:30 but with the warm and not humid weather, it just added to the scenery of the river!
Friends are like buttcheeks..........crap might separate them, but they come together in the end.
