This e-mail was sent to me and my Dad from my son who now lives with my Ex-Wife in Mississippi.  Well, I sent him a copy of the "Final Inspection" poem I have posted here on the board. This was his reply.
    Hey,
You know a lot of the kids here think that the military is the worst thing to join. Tthat if the U.S. were to have another draft that they would rather go to jail than to fight for this country. It really makes me angry because You and Grandpa were in the navy, and you both went to war for this country. I try to stay out of these conversations about the war in Iraq and if the U.S. were to have another draft, but today one of my classes got to talking about it. They asked for everybodys input and when they asked me I gave them my input, to my supprise out of the 15 kids talkin about this I was the only one who said that I would with proudly go to war for this country. I dont know if any of them kids have parents or grandparents who are or were in the armed forces, but if they do I think its a damn shame they would rather go to jail then fight for this country.
Today I was lookin at the e-mail you sent me titled The Final Inspection. I opened it up and began reading. When I got done I had tears running down my face. I just wanted to thank you and Grandpa for fighting for this country.

LOVE, Zach

Good son you have there.

My boy got back from Iraq about 2 months ago. Said it sucked but would do it again if he had to.

Tell him Thanks for his service from an old retired Navy chief. There are many of us out here that are just as proud of him as you are.
