Conservation Partners Grant program application system now available
(Released August 12, 2010)

The application system for the Conservation Partners Legacy matching grant program is now available on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) website.

Complete details about the program, the Request for Proposals, and the Program Manual (which outlines the program and requirements) can be found online under the FY2011 Grant Information tab.

The Request for Proposals and Program Manual for this year’s funding are available for downloading as PDFs. The link to the application system can be found under the How to Apply tab on the website. The online application deadline is 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16.

People interested in submitting applications are encouraged to review the Request for Proposals and Program Manual and begin consulting with a local land manager to determine what their project will entail.

Offered last year for the first time, a total of $3,740,000 in grants was awarded. A total of $4,210,560 is available this year. Local, state and federal nonprofit organizations and government entities are eligible to submit applications for projects intended to restore, protect or enhance prairies, forests, wetlands and habitat for fish, game and wildlife on public lands or lands permanently protected by conservation easements.

More information is available on the website. Questions can be directed to Leslie Tannahill, DNR grants coordinator at leslie.tannahill@state.mn.us or 651-259-5242, or to Jamie Gangaware, DNR conservation grant specialist, at jamie.gangaware@state.mn.us or 651-259-5174.
