Clearing trails

We spent yesterday clearing trails and building a pallet bridge.  Years ago we built a pallet bridge across approximatly 100 yds of swamp. It served well but many pallets were rotted and broken so we added a second layer on top.  It's two pallets wide to accomidate the brush mower. (also were much less likely to fall off in the dark.  Once this was done, we mowed about two miles of trails in this area.  When I got home last nigh the wife wanted me to put up some new kitchen lights but I couldn't raise my arms above my head.   There is lots of water and green vegitation in the woods.  If you have to cross low spots to get to your hunting areas, I would suggest a pre hunt visit to check it out.  We found ponds in the woods where it's normally dry and hard.
Also, I think the early grouse hunting (and bow hunting) will be tough due to all the lush green under growth.
