Hope he is as good a dog as my old "dropper"  named Lucky.  Droppers are a pointer crossed out, mine was witha english setter, she was the best bird dog I have owned and Ive had a few.  She died last winter age 13.

Corny13.... was Lucky an english pointer cross or a GSP?  Thats quite an interesting mix... Im an English setter guy... sorry to hear she's gone.  Do you have ant pics of her?  Im looking at breeding my setter, Drummer  and getting a pup out of it.... found a few breeders with similar Ryman/Hemlock lines... not quite sure if Im ready to deal with a puppy... so nice and quiet around with only one adult bird dog in the house :whistling:.... Snow's got me a little amped up with Sarge's pics though.... Snow... any major damage yet? ;) :doah:

Lucky was a cross of my old english pointer bitch that was accidentally bred by my buddy's english setter, he was up here hunting sharptails from wisconsin.  Sorry I dont have a pic on file of Lucky, most of her good pics were taken before I had a digital camera.  She looked more like a pointer than a setter though.  After the accident I looked up on this breeding, a lot of them are made on purpose in scotland.

Yeah, waaay back before the english setter was brought to the states, they used to bring pointers, and Gordon setters, and sometimes red setters into the English Setter breed, depending what line you look at, you can sometimes see it in the dogs....  Im sure some still do it today.

Pout,

Not really,it took me about two days to puppy proof the house, other than messing the porch up with toys and chew sticks he's been cool, caught him starting to dig over the weekend but hopefully thats been fixed with the choke collar,he learns quick but ya need patience.
