DNR confiscated outdoors equipment sale set for Sept. 18
(Released September 3, 2010)

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will auction a select inventory of confiscated outdoors equipment on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Hiller Auction Barn in Zimmerman, Minn. The barn is located two miles east of the Highway 169 and the County Road 4 intersection in Zimmerman.

Inventory will be available for preview/inspection on Friday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., and on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The auction starts at 11 a.m.

The auction will include nearly 300 rifles, shotguns, and bows seized by conservation officers over the past four years.

A few other miscellaneous items related to outdoor sports will also be auctioned.

Property will be sold “as is,” and all sales will be final. Payment may be by cash, by most major credit cards, cashier’s check, money order or traveler’s check. Credit card buyers will be charged a 3 percent convenience fee. Personal or business checks also will be accepted if they are accompanied by a letter of credit from a bank stating that the bidder’s credit is in good standing. Such letters must be provided when registering for the event.

All buyers will be required to pass a FBI NICS background check prior to taking possession of a firearm. Following the background check, buyers can take possession of their property immediately. Bidders can bring their own gun case to legally transport the gun(s), or a gun sock will be provided.

Proceeds from the auction will be deposited in the DNR’s Game and Fish Fund.

Questions regarding the auction may be directed to Hiller Auction at 763-856-2453, 800-889-3450, or e-mailed to khauction@sherbtel.net.

This could be a good time. Last time I was at a firearm auction though I could not believe how high people would bid them up.

If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?
