Full Moon Fishing Update: 9/23/10

My fishing partner Jordan and a couple of friends caught 24 walleyes last night and kept 3 limits. 4 fish were 24 inches and 1 fish was 55 inches. Yes it was a great big musky. I have a picture of it on the photo and i will try to post it here, if i can't get it up it will be on my web site @ www.rockyreef.com, so check it out. It is a huge fish. The bite is going very well right now. We still have 4 more nights of the moon phase. So get you raps and rods together and head on up and get in on the great fall trolling bite.

It was 7 weeks ago that I had the ankle fusion redone. Everything is going well. The ankle pain has subsided considerably and the pain level has gotten much better. I have a doctor’s appointment next Tuesday and I hope that I can get the cast off then. If not it will be another 2 weeks in the cast. So we will see what appends. On the fishing front, there were some guys out last night and they did very well. They ended up with 14 keepers and some throw backs. The biggest fish of the evening was 27 ½ inches. They were pulling #7 Perch and fire tiger shad raps at 1.5 to 1.7 mph. The bite was on as soon as they got there and continued until about 2:00am.

It will only get better and better as we get closer to the full moon. I myself have been given strict orders by the warden, to not even think about getting in the boat right now. So I will have to wait until the October full moon to get on the water. Well the season is just about over with and we will be gearing up for the ice season. This summer season was a real bummer for me, but I am hopeful that all will be well with the fusion and I will have a better year next year. That is about it at Rock Central for now.

Be safe

Have a great week

We will see ya

When we see ya
