Well I went up north for a 3-day bow hunting weekend again.  So far I've been seeing lot's of does and fawns with the exception of one fork horn a few weekends back.  In the stand Saturday night and had 3-does with two fawns come through about 10-yards out, they milled around in front of me along the field edge until dark.  In the stand again bright and early Sunday morning and around 7:30 a.m. a doe comes through with two button buck fawns behind her and out into the field they go, they cross piece to piece across a field where I’m setup on a natural funnel area.  Then about 10-minutes after that, that same fork horn follows her out into the field, I let him go, he takes a turn though and heads for the heavy pine tree bedding area.  Then about another 10-minutes I hear another deer coming down the trail and as I turn my head slowly to look and to my surprise I actually see a rack on this one so I slowly draw back my new PSE-Stinger and slowly turn towards him coming down the trial, he has his head down to the ground the whole time as he’s walking towards me.  At about 8-yards out I let the arrow fly and see it actually do a complete pass through.  I knew it was a good solid hit in the boiler room.  I see him scurry off along the field edge and stop about 40-yards away and just drop.  I watched from my stand for a about 20-minutes to see if he’d get back up but didn’t.  I was shocked that he dropped so fast.  I was using athe Cabelas- Lazer Strike-2 mechanical broad heads, a lot like the rage-3-blades but much cheaper.  Let me tell you, he bled out in 40 yards and dropped, couldn’t believe it.

He’s not a huge buck but a nice bow-kill, quick and clean and will be good eating.  I counted 9-points on him but I was by myself up north and couldn’t get a picture of myself with the deer and only had my cell phone for the field pics.  By the pictures it looks like visually only 6-points will be able to score, oh-well, it’s points on the board and good memories for me.  I’ve got rifle season and muzzy season left now for the big one.

Congrats! thats pretty cool your party will let you shoot their bucks for them. The people I hunt with usually say shoot your own buck do not shoot mine. Had to pass on the biggest buck I have ever seen 2 years ago because I made the mistake of shooting a smaller one the day before. I also no some guys who buy tags for their wifes or uncles and such and shoot deer for them which i think is wrong but untill they get caught they will continue doing it.

I hear you fully, It's more of just being out there hunting with everybody.  I let deer pass through onto others and don't really plan on it, it's more or less a last resort.  Right now Party Hunting or hunters cant shoot does for party members in Lottery areas, or does for youth permits or special youth hunts or used cross-weapons etc.. per the regs.

I also don't appreciate hearing on averge 10-30 shots the last hour of daylight on the Friday Eve. before firearms opener over the past 26-years I've been huntnig.  Some say they are from coyote hunters, sighting in there rifles at camp etc.. B.S. we all know what it is and can tell the difference now from a rife shot, shotgun shot and a hit or a miss too.  Per the regs, a person can't fire any weapon that is granted of legal caliber to take a deer up to 5-days prior of the opener.  Some people just can't wait huh until the next sunrise?  I've hunted in quite a few areas over my years up north and it's the same where ever I've hunted, shots right at dusk on the Friay eve.
