Ranger, myself, and another shot 21 ducks and 3 mergs on Saturday.  A good day to say the least.  Had a great wind and the dog was terrific.  A mixed bag between ring bills, woodies, buffle heads, scaup, and the mergs.  No mallards though, but did see plenty.

Today was much slower, only two.  But of course, as we check out another spot to set-up, we had a huge flock buzz where we had just got done picking up the dekes.  Never fails.

Yes , it was a great weekend with some really good action on Saturday due to the high winds. This sunny weather really needs to go away though if we want some really good shoots. Blue bird days work from time to time when the wind is up but Sunday was just a stick in the mud. The new boat blind that Finpower built worked like a charm!! For the first time I actually felt like I was on a TV show shooting ducks!! We we're virtually uinvisible from the back and the front was great with the ducks for the most part not knowing that we were even there! I think that the ringneck migration is at or coming close to it's peak right now where we were. We also bagged a few green wings as well. We'll be heading up on Thursday of this week again and hitting the lake Fri morning til Sunday morning. Lets hope for another great weekend amongst friends and ducks!! BTW....Red makes an awesome duck jerky!!!

And let the cooler/colder weather keep moving those birds around and down from the north.  Temps stay cooler during the day and drop at night this week so the weekend outlook should be good.
