Deer from deadeye's camp

My son's nephew shot his first deer with us.  It was a nice 6 pointer.  He had the green light to shoot anything he wanted.  He pass on a spike and took this one.  And another deer hunter is born.

My brother saw this one running a doe.  He saw it was quite wide but after he shot it, he saw it didn't have an abundance of points.  Still a fairly nice 140 pound buck.

My brother in law shot this 9 point 190 pound beauty (11 if you count two inch long stickers on the bases) chasing a doe.  There was another 8 point in the chase also.  On Monday, he watched a larger 10 point tending a doe 30 yards from his stand.  He didn't shoot it because he "had his buck" and was looking for a doe.  He didn't shoot the doe so the buck would stay in the area.          Go figure.

My son got this 220 pound 10 point to stop chasing a doe long enough to get a double lung shot at 40 yards.  Long high beams with long points.  Needless to say, he is a happy camper.  Before he got down locate this buck, another just as big came by.  For a while he though it was the first one and he had missed.  He was releaved to find this one dead about 75 yards away.

Nice to see a new hunter introduced, it took me a few years to get my first deer, but I am hooked and will be hunting until I can no longer!

That 11 pointer is a beauty - and the reasoning behind not shooting the buck or the doe is odd, but hunting is sometimes about superstition, lets hope it works for him (or you) next year!
Now that deer your son shot, thats not the big one our brother passed is it?

Looks like you have some great deer on the property, congrats on a successful hunt!

Here's a group shot of the 4 bucks taken Saturday morning.  Where is my buck you say.  Well,  seeing a number of big bucks on the trail camera and having these bucks in camp, I decided to pass on all bucks unless I could get one bigger.  I let 6 bucks go including 3 nice 8 points.  I'm still waiting for one bigger than the ones they got.  I think I may go buckless this year.  lol 
I did shoot a doe on the way in for lunch on Sunday. (had to scratch the trigger finger itch).

Because a couple of us had not shot a buck, he wanted it to hang around the area to give one of us a crack at it.  He though if he shot the doe, the buck wouldn't hang around.  My son shot his on Saturday and he saw the other one on Monday so it's still out there.

Wow, great hunt Deadeye!  Glad to see the son's nephew got his first buck...I also have that rule on my place that first buck can be any buck!  You have some work to get one bigger than your son or brotherinlaw..Good Luck.
