I am in the process of building a 4x6 but I cant decide how to lay the interior/door way out. I want one bench seat that can also be use for a sleeper if need be and enough hole space for 2 guys. Im use to fishing out of a 6.5' x 14 but had to sell it so now stuck with nothing. If some guys could post pictures of how they have theres set up that would be of much help.  Thank you

I'll draw the floor plan up on CAD, then scan it when I get home.
Hopefully I can post it then....

Well........that didn't work to well, but I tried on a short notice.

Here it is, the door would be across from the bench between the 4 holes.

One option I have seen and really liked was Hunterdown's floor plan with a swing down bench or bunk.   2 holes under the bench-(can't be used when bench is up).  Sit on buckets fold bench down two guys can fish with more hole separation.  Bench swings down with lockable legs.  Will only extend out 2 inches from the wall when down.  I hope you understand what I am trying to say.  :doah:    I don't even understand what I am trying to say when reading this. :banghead:   Let me try again.  To put the bench up you reach down, pull the leading edge up and lock in the legs.  Be sure to leave some clearance between the leading edge and the floor because if you get ice build up you will not be able to put the bench all the way back in the down position.

http://www.wallchair.com/ is another option, we have the white plastic ones in our houses. Holds up to 290 pounds, and not bad with a boat cushion.

Yeah.  Thats what I was trying to say only not as high tech.  Just snap out locking legs for the whole bench.   :happy1:

I like the idea of 6 holes, even though it would be tight with 3 guys, if you NEED it, you have the option.
I would have flip hatches (im guessing you already had that idea) incase you make it a spear house at some point.

With the holes next to you, you can jig one across and have a set line next to you if needed.  Just another thought.

** YEAH, Im not as good with CAD as these other guys, 'Paint' will sufice.

This is a great idea. If you want a bunk make the two seats one the one side permanent and then have the middle fold down and boom, you got a bunk. You could do the same on the other side, make the center perm and two ends fold down. You can also mount rattle reels on a hinge on the fold down. That way if you are sleeping you can have the reels down, sit up, flip the part that folds down and fish on!

Looks solid!

Out of curiousity, any reason you decided on 4' x 6'?  That's going to be a really tight squeeze for two guys.  Before you cut the holes, I highly suggest you set a couple of paper plates on the floor and sit down so you can test how you like the hole placement.

I decided on 4x6 so it could fit into the back of the truck with the tailgate shut. I only plan on having it sleep 1 with hatches for the holes. Im just using random supplies from my old mans lumberyard to build it. I havent spent a penny on it yet. The only money I will be putting into it will be the insulation and shelter license. Its just kinda being made for a place to get away from the ol' lady. :happybounce:

You can't argue with free!  I was serious about putting the plates down to test the hole placement.  They can look great on paper, but until you're actually sitting there you won't know, especially when your space is limited.

Looking great.  How are you going to heat it?  Be careful  not to build it too tight.  CO2 can be a problem it the construction is too precise.

Im just gonna be using a small mr buddy heater, also I will be putting in old wood soffit type vents into the side.  I dont think I will have to worry about the CO2 build-up. But thanks for reminding me i have to grab acouple of the vents tomorrow.  :happy1:

Yeah, the cold weather has slowed my progress down but got most of it insulated, the roof mostly on and the plexi glass set and caulked in the windows. My goal is have it 100% finished by the 5th of feb. Its all depending on the weather.
