DNR conservation officer to check fish houses,
remind anglers about approaching removal deadline

 

WHAT:           Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Alex Gutierrez will check fish houses on Forest Lake and remind anglers about the deadline to remove the structures. Shelters must be off lakes in the southern two-thirds of the state by midnight on Monday, March 7.

 

WHEN:           Friday, Feb. 25, 11 a.m.

 

WHERE:         Forest Lake (DNR access #1)

Directions: from the south, take I-35 north to Broadway Avenue, which is the second Forest Lake exit. Take Broadway east, continue through the new roundabout into Forest Lake Municipal Park, and go north (left) about 100 yards. The public access will be just past the small pavilions.

 

WHAT CAMERAS WILL SEE:

Officer Gutierrez will be checking fish houses, visiting with anglers, explaining the  

rules, showing potential trouble spots such as houses frozen in, and/or litter on the ice.
