Any body know of a good place to get reloading supplies for shotgun 1 1/8 oz at a good price. I have been getting Universal powder for about 21.00, wads 500 for 9.99, primers for about 3.60 a hundred and haven't found any good price on lead.

I believe Beeker was getting lead from Metro for $33.  May want to send him a PM and get the info first hand.

lead is always the killer. I got some reclaimed last year for 15$ per 25#'s.. that was at forest lake gun club.. not sure if he has any left. worth a call if you don't mind reclaimed. metro carry's lead last time I checked it was 35$.. it's dipped down to 30 for a shot while. but thats about the best you'll find it at. sometimes you can find the guys that make it themselves but I always get that through a "friend of a friend".

are you reloading for hunting loads? or reloading for trap/skeet type shooting? right now the minnesota sporting clays association has a deal where you can get rio's for 50$ a case through scheels.

We're going to purchase our high school trap club shells at $50 per case.  Either Kemen or Rio.

Any recommendation Beeker?

I started shooting trap again last year on a team over in Appleton. I still have my reloader, but with the cost of lead and everything, I don't know if it is worth the reloading.

I would go with kemen over rio if I had the choice. both are good.. steps above estate.

the only way reloading pays now adays is if you watch for bargains. there is a place over by st cloud where you can buy bulk. buying bulk reduces it to affordable again. usually my brothers and I will split a case of wads or a case of primers.. but powder and lead is what always gets ya. but once you get your reloader dialed in you can turn out some very good quality reloads.

I think it was gramps on here who had primers very reasonable.. but I haven't seen him post anything in a while. I could use primers and powder again

FYI Guyz on the rio ammo, good and not so good,I've burned thru 1000's of rounds of rio's okay loads for practice providing the temps are above 30 degree's,I also found out they sell two different type of hulls for some reason, could have something to do with fps and or payload, one type is a blue hull the other is green, for some reason we had less to zero miss fires with the green hull ammo, otherwise estate is a good second choice or even top gun if its on sale, gander mtn usually gives a 5% discount on flat purchases.

I've had very good luck with topgun. and have heard that about rio in the cold as well.. but we need to think positive here.. winter is ending and we don't need to worry about the cold affecting our ammo.

some of the true fanatic reloaders can tell you the variance on the different powders by the cold. I just try to avoid shooting in the real cold.  gander had topguns 59.99 per case the other day. and some other ammo on clearance.. just not enough clearance for me yet.

True beeker, but we'll have a few more cold days, even into late april,no worries tho if you load up with rio's,just keep them on the truck/car floor with the truck running and the heater on until your ready tp shoot,it works.

I've never heard of such a thing.  Interesting.

I don't shoot trap anymore but the only way I see it paying is to buy in bulk. By bulk I mean get together with a bunch of freinds and stock up 5-10 yrs worth. There are still deals to be had but it's hard to find them when your talking about lead by the bag or powder by the lb.

This was yrs back but a few of us got together and bought 4 kegs of powder (44lbs to a keg). It was military surplus stuff. It was basically winchester powder but they couldn't say that. Yea 176 lbs of powder was alot but considering we got it for less than 25% of going rate. Even if we only used half of it we still saved half.

Some things will only go so low. Never will be able to buy shot for less than what scrap lead goes for. To get the real deals one has to buy big and do lots of searching before you do.

BTW I'm still shooting that $2 powder.

buying in bulk is the way to go. I've been part of groups in the past where we would get primers/wads in large lots. allot of guys have gotten away from reloading. heck I even thought of getting into making my own shot (have a source for lead) but the wife talked me out of that adventure.

Heck Griz, I'll give double your money for some. Sounds pretty good, $4.00 a lb, don't you think?

I heard lead is jumping up all over the place.. 42$ was what I heard in one place.. if you can still find it for 32/34.. and you plan to reload, you should jump on it

Yea if I could get more for my own use at that $4.00 I would.
