The ice on most of the lakes in the area doesn't want to leave.  Smaller lakes and rivers are all or partially open, but the bigger lakes like Burntside and Snowbank will likely need another week or so before totally ice free.
Walleyes are beginning to spawn, and colder water for the opener will have the Lake Trout in the shallows.
All in all, it should be a better opener than last year, as water levels appear to be high in most places.
Cannot wait for opening week so I can begin to leave the ladies that signed up for the 2011 Fishing Challenge in the dust!!!! :moon: :moon: :moon:
