Took the family along with 5 foster kids to leech for the weekend. Saturday was a bit windy but I finally convinced the wife that the kids would be fine in the pontoon and took them out so she could have a break. After a bit I saw a storm to the south and thought to go in but the kids wanted to stay out since the fish had started cooperating. That was a mistake. The wind came in fast so I put all the rods away and no sooner headed in and I saw the wall of rain coming. We had an exciting ride back and were hailed on all the way. Glad I maxed out the pontoon with a 90 Horse. We all made it back safe except me. I had an angry wife to deal with.  :bonk: Sunday the lake was dead calm. I headed over to 5 mile point. Many boats all out in about 10 - 12 feet. I dropped the trolling motor and headed into about 7 - 7 1/2 feet and slow trolled the weeds. The Walleyes were on fire! At one time I had 5 kids with a fish on at the same time. the nice thing is they were all keeper size fish. I was surprised with all the noise and action that we didn't have any of the other boats move in. I would post some pics but unfortunately I can't put pictures of Foster kids on public sights. If you ever want to make a kids day call your county social services office and take some of these kids on an outing. I guarantee you will be rewarded.

Stop over whenever your up this way Bob. Forgot to say that on Saturday we got into the Crappies. The kids put 15 in the live-well for a fish fry. All in the 11 1/2 to 13 1/2 inch range. The rest went back into the lake for another day. Now with 7 people in the boat we could have kept plenty but I am trying to teach the kids a little bit of conservation at the same time. Hoping this fishery lasts for their kids to enjoy too.
