went out friday and sat nite chasing sunfish. after looking around a few spots with no luck, i hit the honey hole! wasnt fast and furious but these fish where nice!!!!! got 14 fri nite and 3 of us got 15 sat nite. fish fry sunday for brunch while the vikes played. found them in 17 ft of water off a sunken island. had my aquaview out. was odd whenever the thingy down below hit the bottom those sunfish would be lookin for a snack! if this weather holds up more sunfish could be in trouble. they where however pretty finicky, even the thorne bros rod with the spring bobber wasnt much help, but that could of been operator error!!!!! :bonk: :bonk: :whistling:

Nice report!  I've been out a few times right off the road at a local lake and catching nice sunfish with the kids.

 ;)

The lake I'm talking about is just a few miles south of my place and used to be a DNR stock pond for Walleyes.  Then it made the back page of the outdoor news and was fished out within a few weeks to a month.  Now the Sunfish are about the only thing left in there, but you can catch them one after another.  Makes great fishing for the kids.

No I don't think they've used it for 10 years or so.  Diamond had a few good years there and it's for sure harder to find fish.  But lakes tend to cycle like that.  The word gets out and everyone is out there then other lakes have a chance to "heal".
