Really cool pictures.  Yes, the bow shot was a bit off the mark.

Wow, that is bad. I'm guessing a running shot or maybe a deflection off a branch or a 60 or 70 yard shot. Not good. Gives the hunters a bad image. Looks like he got the arrow out on the later picture.

Nice deer. Glad to see that the arrow worked it's way out without too much issue.

I bagged a deer this year that was wounded last year.  It was walking fine when I shot it, but when I skunned it out, the right rear medial collateral ligament was completely severed and healed over with scar tissue.  I figure a broadhead grazed the knee similar to the one in your picture.

It is amazing what deer can endure and overcome.

I butchered a buck last year that had a slug in its rear end.  Must have been from a year or two earlier as there was no wound on the exterior.

My buddy shot a nice Buck this year that must have been shot last year he had the arrow and a rage broadhead just under the skin by the back straps there was a big puss pocket surrounded by scar tissue but we had no idea till we scun him out. They are tough animals that's for sure.

4 years ago around October 20 my buddy shot a 8 point buck with the bow. He came in to me and we went through the shot. I hit it rite behind the shouler. We waited a hour then went looking very little blood. We tracked it about 300 yards. It stayed on a main deer trail or we would not tracked it that far. We spent houres that night and the next day to find nothing. We thought that deer died! The first Tuesday of the rifle season about 4 in the after noon I did the can call 3 times Baaa Baaa Baaa, it wasent 3 min and I see a nice buck running full tilt towards me, I pulled up my gun and he seen the sun shine on my gun, he stomped on the brakes through his head up and looked at me, I pulled the triger and BBD. I walked over to the deer and seen something green on the back side, rolled it over and there was the arrow my buddy shot. It hit rite behind the front shouder, we figer it was angled more than he thought. Hit a rib bone, pushed the rib bone in,cracked it but the broad head slid between the ribs and hide. His front sholder held the arrow tite to his body. The buck grew a cartlige (SP) around the brodhead. The buck seemed fine? :fudd: :deer:
