That is not the total STATE of MINNESOTA tally.   It is for the northern areas only.   When I read articles like that, well, it makes me sick.   A bunch of people worried about losing revenue.   The say great things like, " I guess", "depends on the winter, it will either make them or break them", "then it wont be the end of the world."   Top notch whitetail management here in MN.   This harvest was down and that harvest was down, and he says, "Well, I guess they shoot bucks in that area."  REALLY!   I picture him scratching his head as he was saying this.  I read an article, and I can't remember what it was published in, I want to say Minnesota Outdoor news, and after the first week the harvest was down something like 17.5 percent.   Due to a really poor opener, where most deer get taken.

I would be willing to bet you "BIG" changes for next years seasons.   And the way they do things, it wont be for the best.   They don't care about quality, but what are they going to do when thier quantity is gone... Because that's where they are taking it and I think this season, archers, firearms, and muzzleloaders, all have seen the slow and lack there of in the season.   They follow the same paths and if they do to deer what they do to every other species, look out.   No ducks, but yet the limit is still 6, you can still shoot 3 roosters in December even though they are 27% away from exstinction in Minnesota from poor winters and springs.   Unfortunately, the deer are headed for hardship in our state.   And our DNR says "I guess" and continues its poor management practices motivated by the incoming dollar.

They  can always open up wolf hunting in a lottery draw application, more revenue and would help the deer population.
