Antone ever been to one? I mean the tournament hunts, not field trials or hunt tests.

Used to do them quite often... haven't been to one in the last 5-6 years. 

We took 1st at the U.S. Open Pheasant Championship in the ametuer division in '93... that was a highlight, a couple of 1st's and 2nd's in smaller hunt club tourneys and a 2nd in our retriever club's tourney one year.   

They are fun and are a way to show people who want to buy pups some proof as to your dogs birdiness.  They aren't hunting and I don't think most people think of them that way... it's just another extension if you want to have some fun with your dogs and are competititve.
