My son and a friend of his went turkey hunting last Sunday.  They had turkeys around but none offered a shot.  They went again this morning and again had gobblers around.  My son took the first shot and down went one turkey.  While the turkey was flopping around, another came running in to see what was going on.  My son's buddy let fly at that one and ... Score a double

Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

The back story.  I did the scouting and set up a ground blind in late April, checked it again a week ago last Tuesday.  My brother in law hunted Friday (from the blind) and shot a nice tom.  My son and he buddy shot these two from the same blind.  I'm thinking of getting a license and trying it myself.  I can't go until Sunday but there are a few days left.  :Turkey:

I haven't decided yet.  Gun may be a sure thing but bow is more unique.  Interesting tid bit.  My son and his friend used decoys on Sunday and the birds they saw didn't come in.  On Tuesday they went without decoys and called very little and they came.  Interesting.  Once they heard some gobbles, his friend gave a few soft purrs and said that's enought.  They will know where it came from.

How far is your blind from the RED ceder shed that I was locked in?
Make your first shot count, it might be the only one you get.

Oh, yes, the red cedar shed.  Well, it's about 100 yards down the field to the east.  And now Kid #1 knows why we never close the door.   :rotflmao:
