Today I decided to pack up a bunch of crawlers since I've got some multiple guide trips coming up. It was a beautiful morning for a change after suffering a record breaking heat wave recently. While everyone else has been suffering from intense rain storms day after day, were suffering from a drought. The ground is hard as a rock and the trees are dropping huge clusters of leaves to conserve energy. Don't think I'll be stocking up on free crawlers with the dry spell around here. I even see the robins searching and listening for worms to feed their young without much luck.

That brings me to my first adventure in my life, when an experienced crook out smarted me when I least expected.
I never thought I'd have to worry about being robbed in front of my own home in broad daylight but, it happened. Thank God he didn't get my money and no one got hurt. That was my main concern. I wasn't able to physically to catch the SOB but, was able to get him on camera. I would have figured he'd flee when I turned around and caught him red handed but, I was unable to deter this guy until he got what he was after. Actually he returned 3 times within 5 minutes.

He looks pretty bad-ass. I see he brought his own shopping basket too.

Glad you mentioned the basket  :bonk: because It also came into play during the sneak attack raid. When I saw this rascal hijacking my crawlers I placed the empty basket on top of the flat of crawlers. So, the robin goes and lands in the basket to get more crawlers through the holes in the basket. His beak was to short so he jumped out of the basket. The basket wasn't large enough to cover the whole flat so Mr. Wizard lands right on the edge where a few more worms were exposed.

Borgie had come outside and saw this bold bandit in action and couldn't believe that the robin showed no fear and was within 20 inches of me during his raid.

Admit it Lee, an old timer like yourself found a great deal of enjoyment in your new found bird feeder. I even wouold venture to guess that your next trip to the bait store includes or included already an extra dozen for the Wisconsin state birds.

Actually Walgreens called me and wanted to turn this into an infomercial. My greatest hope is that Mr. robin returns and will be receptive to this offer. Were also entertaining an offer from National Geographic.

I'm not sure how this whole thing will unfold  but, I'll still make sure that I've always got time for my friends at MNO. :toast:

PS.  America's Most Wanted may also be interested in the story. To track down our thief we'll have to give him a name. Borgie was thinking about "Robin Hood". :doah:
