Detroit Lakes area: Anglers are catching nice-sized walleyes at about 11 to 18 feet using leeches and crawlers. Bass action is picking up along the deeper weed edges using leeches or crawlers as well. Northerns are being caught along weedlines and crappies are hitting at 9 to 13 feet using jigs or plastic baits.

Grand Rapids area: Bowstring and Sand lakes have produced a strong walleye bite recently. On Bowstring, anglers are primarily using spinners on bottom bouncers with a nightcrawler or leech at about 10 to 21 feet. On Sand Lake, walleyes are taking spinners on bottom bouncers with a nightcrawler or leech at 11 to 17 feet. Pokegama and Sugar lakes are producing some walleye action.

Lake of the Woods: According to Borderview Lodge, walleyes are biting at about 14 to 17 feet in front of Lighthouse Gap using jigs and spinners.

Lake Waconia: Keg's, North, and Anderson's Reefs have produced the best walleye action using a jig with leech or a fathead minnow. The panfish bite has been strong along the pencil reeds in Reinke's Bay and along the northwest shoreline at 8 to 10 feet using spinners with waxworms or bobber fishing. Crappies are at 10 to 12 feet along weedlines. Bass action has stayed consistent with the best spot being by the Carp Trap or reefs such as Cemetery, Pillsbury and North, using spinnerbaits with leeches or crawlers.

Lake Mille Lacs: During the daytime teh mudflats are producing a good walleye bite using spinners with shiner minnows. During the evenings, many anglers are heading out on the rock areas, such as Garrison Reef or Myr Mar, at about 10 to 12 feet using leeches with a bobber set-up. Other lakes in the area, such as Farm Island, Borden and Round, have a solid panfish and crappie bite using jigs and minnows.
