Yes it does with the proper preparation It will never cut your scent to nothing but any advantage you can get on a deers nose is a plus for the hunter

I am probably a little overboard when it comes to controlling my scent, but I am a firm believer that you will see more deer if you take the steps to minimize your scent.

Scent blocker does help but last week I also had deer dead down wind and they didn't stop eating.  Many thing contribute to this. Height, very dry conditions help ,  scent sprays(dead down wind),  rubber boots,  chlorophyll tabs, scent free washed cloths, mint gum,  standing in the smoke from a fire, young deer,  cover scents.  Cody, You probably use more than one of these.  Scentblocker is not and never will be good enough by itself.  Best plan is to first play the wind.

I believe scent blocker does work somewhat, but I think that masking yourself with natural scents like smoke and other things that deer will commonly smell in the woods works best.

yes, i do use alot of other precautions. i do hunt high 20+feet. i do hunt the wind...primarly..i use scentblocker clothing, rubber boots, and scent killer. and i dont get dressed in my hunting gear until i get to my hunting area.. they could be young "dumb deer" but atleast 2 of them were mature. i mean they stayed at less then 10 yards for 15+ minutes. 2 of which were right at the bottom of my tree.

Cody I agree scentblocker helps and if I could aford it I would add it to my scent reduction.  After the 4 kids are grown and out of the house I will hopefully have more extra money to spend on fun stuff.

I do try to minimize sent when possible but I'm not too anal about it.  Most of our stands could have deer approach from any direction (why limit them to one or two directions) so most of the time I just assume some deer will smell me. 
The doe I shot a couple weeks ago approach my tree without giving me a shot.  She was about 20 feet from the base of the tree when she got down wind of me.  She did all the normal stuff, hoof pounding, sniffing the are and looking around.  Finally she had enough and bolted straight away for about 30 yards.  She stood there for a while and then decided things weren't so bad so she proceeded to circle up wind of me.  I stopped her at 25 yards.

Sorry i'll put it back on track.  Scent blocker is  WAYYYYY over priced scam and I don't see how this event proves anything.  However again it's your money spend it how ever you want.

what i see is a few old men that have been shooting deer year after year doing the same things and dont see the need for these new ideas. like ive said before you can take a fat hooker hunting after her night working the corner and probly still shoot a deer even a big buck. luck is luck. scent control works whether they want to belive it or not. i use it with success and have seen the clear difference. i know i will see more deer and they will be at ease when they come in even though they still smell me they are not alarmed knowing there is a possible threat near them.

put it this way, you walk into a bar and chuck just took a moster nacho crap in the bathroom. now if he kept the windows shut up and just left without flushing, you'll about die and want to leave the area right?

now take that same crap, flush it (shower with scent free soap) open the window (scent free clothing) and spray some cheap spring time flower aerosol spray (scent killer spray/cover scent). now still knowing someone just tore the place up, youll probly still stay at least long enough to take your own nacho crap.

i'm still confused on why a fat hooker would be shooting deer and why does chuck eat nacho's that cause him to blow out his intestines? is chuck the hooker? and does it cost more for the nacho surprise?

it does work regardless of what the "old timers" say. ive seen it work first hand. had deer so close that i could of reached out and touched them. had them smell my pull cord, had them smell right where i was standing to get in the stand. my whole point is, and same with steves point, is that it works to mask you scent to as low as possible.

you guys can continue to stand in the smoke from the fire and all that other junk. me personally i cant stand the smell on my clothes, and it gives me a head ache. not to mention it makes everything else stink as well
