I guess I take the opposite stance.  I think it's a bad idea for two reasons.  One, the stickers are big, as you mentioned, and personally I don't care to have a giant sticker on my sled.  That's just me being picky and if I have to do it I'll do it.

The other reason is that if it is now required, meaning you have to buy it, why not do away with it altogether and just raise the price of the registration sticker accordingly?  That way they get the money, which is what they're after, and they also save money by not having to print out tens of thousands of grant in aid stickers.  Oh well, perhaps that solution would never work since it uses too much common sense.

Just my opinion.

So you need this sticker no matter what?
I just ride my sled on my property, and sometimes on the lake for ice fishing.

I believe in Minnesota there will be just one sticker for registration and grant-in-aid trails.

Even if you just ride on your property or to lakes to go fishing, chances are you ride on trails that are maintained by a snowmobile club.

In addition to the registration/trail sticker, snowmobilers should all join a snowmobile club to support their sport. Even if it's just with club dues and not wanting to be involved with the club.
