Montana man wants refund after dog eats $500 :taz:

A Montana man whose 12-year-old golden retriever ate five $100 bills hopes to be reimbursed by the federal government.

Wayne Klinkel tells the Independent Record that his dog Sundance ate the bills while he and his wife were on a road trip to visit their daughter.

Klinkel says he carefully picked through the dog's droppings, and his daughter recovered more when the snow melted.

He says he washed the remnants of the bills and taped them together and sent them to the Treasury Department's Bureau of Engraving and Printing with an explanation of what happened.

The bureau's website says an "experienced mutilated currency examiner" will determine if at least 51 per cent of a bill is present and eligible for reimbursement. The process can take up to two years.

Wayne Klinkel says he picked through droppings after his dog Sundance, not pictured, ate $500. Klinkel taped the pieces together and sent the bills to the Treasury Department for a refund.

thats funny..... does that mean I can get back the hundreds of $$$ i spent on one of my bird dogs that nearly died when he got backed up big time from trying to eat and digest those knotted rope "chew toys" you see in pet stores everywhere...? :rotflmao: I can laugh now but I still cringe when I see people buying them or giving them to their dogs.... kinda like seeing a parent giving a toddler small toys to play with & swallow..... :banghead:  even worse is vets selling them in their clinics at the same time they are making thousands of dollars every month opening up your pooches digestive tracts removing what they sell you.....

when picking up the dogs leftovers in the spring you can always see how the dog passed her winter.. crayons... change... random wrappers.. something glittery...
