    • Fishing & Hunting South Dakota's Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe
I haven't been fishing but I am sure getting ready as this next weeks weather report has a lot of 50 degree days a head and the first day of spring is just around the corner. Talking to some of those fishermen friends of mine that have been out the bite around downtown Pierre is very good for the few boats that are on the water. Some bigger walleye being reported on jigs/minnows ( I know of two over 7 lbs.) mostly around the bridges or stilling basin. Most ice houses are out now on Oahe as shoreline water starts to make for there removal a smart thing. I am hearing reports of walleye being caught on Oahe threw the ice in around 30 fow mostly in the back of the Cheyenne river but check ice condition real close before accessing the main lake as warmer temps are going to make many areas dangerous. I will start putting out these reports on a more frequent basis as spring arrives and I start to get on the water.
