I posted the information that GF&P's sent me in a earlier report http://www.fishinghutch.com/fishingreports.htm and then in my next report I will comment on how I see things. I accidentally missed this meeting and so I will stop by GF&PS soon to get any more updated info they have. I helped Scott Van Lear along with the radio man guide a bunch of real nice guys from the Sioux City Iowa area to limits of walleye on Sharpe. The first day the bite was a little harder as in the afternoon the corps ran a lot of current and the bite was off. We caught all the fish on bouncer crawler rigs or bouncer/plain hook rigs in around 4 fow to 10 fow fishing East of Pierre. Once again boat traffic was high with boats strung out just about every were so if you are looking to fish more by yourself Oahe is a better choice. The bite there is decent. If you are new to fishing on Sharpe watch your step. I observed three boats hung up on sand bars and one boat stuck on a rock pile right out of the marina. I also saw a boat run right thru and island into a stump field so if you haven't fished here before you would be will advised to study some good maps or get some local info before you lean on the throttle as you can get into some serious trouble in a quick hurry going downriver on Sharpe from Pierre. Local fishermen zip around but they know the way so remember to be careful if you haven't been on the lake since the flood. I have bumped a few myself and I have been around for a while. Some mornings have been foggy making for some tricky navigation.
