    • Fishing & Hunting South Dakota's Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe
I guided Harvey and Marilyn Ganow from Jefferson Iowa then took Doctors Scott Rose and DR Owens and their wives from the Omaha NE area and on Sunday I took Jeb and Mary Piles one of my favorite repeat customers from Malcom NE. The bite on the river (Lake Sharpe) was very good when the conditions were right but several of these days involved big winds in the 20 to 30 mph range and current that was very strong making for a couple of days that we had to work real hard to come up with the fish. When conditions were right we put limits in the boat by one or so. On the river we were using either spinner/bouncer/crawler or bouncer/plain hook gulp or crawlers in around 10 fow east of Pierre. There are still a lot of boats using the main bite area's and for the most part every one is catching some fish. Small mouth fishing is very good on Oahe and walleye fishing is improving daily as cooler nights are putting more fish in around 15 fow to 25 fow making finding them easier. The same bait's are working on Oahe and fishing pressure much less so I plan on spending more guiding time back on the big lake if the weather permits. I had a great time with all of these folks and hope to guide them again next year. As we get more into fall I look for the bite to be even better especially on Oahe but as usual weather will start to enter the picture more often.
