Josh Freeman agrees to one-year deal with Vikings.
By Ross Jones, FOXSports.com

The Josh Freeman Saga has finally concluded. At least we hope so.

Freeman, who was released on Sept. 30 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after an unceremonious benching, has agreed to one-year deal worth $3 million with the Minnesota Vikings, according to FOX Sports NFL insider Mike Garafolo. Freeman’s agent confirmed the news on Twitter:

The fifth-year quarterback made a Pro Bowl appearance in 2010 and will be eased into action because of the Vikings’ powerful running game. One must assume the Vikings are eager to see immediate improvement from third-year quarterback Christian Ponder or they will turn to the high upside of Freeman.

The Vikings play the Panthers Sunday in Minnesota on FOX.

Veteran wide receiver Greg Jennings immediately showed his support for Freeman on Twitter:

Freeman was the 17th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, but his future in Tampa Bay was uncertain after a rift between he and head coach Greg Schiano emerged.

Curtis Conway and Jill Arrington came through with some analysis of the deal on the video below.

Who is Ponder?  Don't they mean the job is between Cassel and Freeman?
