Cold water, Hot Bite!  On the lake, good numbers of walleyes being caught in front of Lighthouse Gap, Morris Point Gap, in front of Zippel Bay and out from Long Point.  Anchor in 20-27 feet with a 1/2 or 3/8 oz jig and a minnow. Hot colors, gold, glow white, pink and silver.  Jig from the bottom to 2 feet off bottom.  Good sauger action and mixed in jumbo perch.

On the Rainy River, fish are active and on the move. Lots of eaters and some trophy walleyes to over 30". Good spots shift day by day.  This week, the chapel, the airport, Timbermill Park, Hattie's Hole, Clementson Bay and around Frontier Landing. The emerald shiners are still moving and fishing has not slowed down!  Try a few spots until you connect.  Anchored up or a very slow drift.

Up at the NW Angle, musky fishing is still in full swing. Troll along shorelines and weed beds for the best bite. Crappie and walleye are biting well with colder water with limits coming in.  Walleyes on south end of Oak Island and around Falcon Island in 25 - 30 feet.  For info on lodging and boat accesses, www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com
