HOT reports from all parts of the day! The best depths have been 23-26 or 28-32. Gold and pink have been the colors to use. Tip your jigging spoon with a minnow head and work the bottom, watching electronics for suspended fish.  In the other dead stick hole, use a jig or plain hook under a bobber with a live minnow 4-6" off the bottom.  Up to 23 inches of ice is currently on the lake.

Resorts using the Rainy River reporting success!  20' in the evenings the best as walleyes head up for the night bite. Use an active minnow on a pink, gold, or glow jig for the best results.

Up at the NW Angle, a good mix of fish are being caught along with limits of walleyes and saugers. Perch and pike mixed with walleyes in 22-25' of water.  Crappies active, but primarily on Canadian side. Use bright colors, pink, gold, and chartreuse. Ice still continues to build. Up to 20" is a good amount for the roads heading from Young's Bay to the island resorts.  For lodging, fish house rentals and guides, www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com.  Like Us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/LakeoftheWoodsMN.com.
