Walleye season closes April 14 and opens again May 10th.  On the ice, nice walleyes and saugers still the norm this week with a few perch and tulibees. In front of Graceton Beach and towards Morris Point Gap and Lighthouse Gap 16-18 or 20-22. Using Gold or pink tipped with live minnow. Pike are ready to run, try 8-10 near Zippel Bay or Four Mile Bay tipped with live sucker minnow.  Use resorts for info before venturing out, snowmobile or ATV traffic only.

On the Rainy River. Birchdale and Frontier accesses open to all boats.  The river channel is open in front of Vidas landing but still 10' of shore ice. Open water goes just west of Clementson. Sturgeon fishing is open.  Catch and release now through April 23, keep season opens April 24th.  Info at www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com/river-fishing.

Up at the NW Angle, walleye fishing this past week was good.  The pike bite is also active for those still getting out on the ice.  Pike season open all year at LOW and Rainy River.  Info on lodging and spring fishing at www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com.
