Winter Kill?

I spent part of yesterday searching known deer bedding areas looking for signs of winter kill.  I found one fawn that obviously died from starvation this spring.  This was the second fawn I've found to have starved to death this winter.  Good news is it appears to be only a fawn kill and perhaps most of the does made it through.  I don't know at this time what effect it will have a this years fawn crop.  It' possible the does absorbed the fawns to help survive the winter.  Time will tell.

Wonderful view of large beaver pond.  Ducks, Cranes, Geese, Grouse, Deer, and Turkeys can be seen in the general area.
