:police: Mammoth pileup on Lake Bemidji

A crew with members of the Minnesota Conservation Corps and the Department of Natural Resources had the arduous task of clearing the mammoth pileup of bulrushes at the trestle bridge on the east side of Lake Bemidji the past two days. The reeds were so thick they used chainsaws to cut out chunks, using boats to pull them out with a special fork and setting them free down the Mississippi River. Today, the crews will begin on Lake Irving and work down the Mississippi removing snags.
