2014 deer season

I've been hearing a lot of different things about the 2014 season so just looking for what others are hearing also I've heard reports that Minnesota will be two deer max and most of the state will be buck only zone's but can't seem to find anything online about how the tags will go for the up coming season

I think the DNR is still digesting the information they heard during their recent town hall meeting that took place this Spring. I'm sure something on their findings will come about soon.

There's been a lot of talk on all sides.  My guess is there will be a lot of unhappy deer hunters.   Much was said about low deer densities and I believe the DNR will address the issue.  Only problem is be careful what you wish for because you may get it.  The most effective way to increase the population is to simply reduce the kill.   Many area may be bucks only and other will have doe lotteries.  Hunters used to choosing what they shoot may no longer have that option. 
On another note, what are you guys seeing for fawns?  More, less the same as other years?

Hopefully they make some changes. Something has to give!!

I just put my cameras out for my summer inventory. Excited to see what we have for the fall. Deer numbers in my area have been way down from years past. I expect to see the same thing this year with hopefully a good crop of young ones. Will let you know in a couple weeks!

i wont run my cams until late july, early august. but I have seen a lot of deer this summer so far, BUT I have only seen a handful of fawns. I hunt 601 most of the time due to my work schedule, so I dout this will affect me any if at all. but the family farm up by park rapids, that will be affected im sure, everyone that we talked to up there had a down year, but our camp of 4 hunters put down 4 deer, so everyone got one. they seen a lot also.

I have been seeing more fawns than ever this spring and showing a lot more deer on camera compared to normal but that could be due to swamps getting flooded out and the deer needing to move there bedding area for the summer here

We were fishing muskies in Hubbard Co. two weeks ago and seen a couple of does with fawns. Unfortunetly only one fawn with each of them.
