A mix of methods and limits this week as some walleyes are moving to shallower water. Reports of mud flats in 30-35 feet of water using cranks. Pulling spinners in 15-25' from Lighthouse Gap to Morris Point Gap.  Hammered gold spinners tipped with crawler best. Jigging 20-30' in front of Pine Island towards Zippel Bay producing fish.  Also Long Point in 28 feet, or the West Bar of Garden 11-22 feet using bright colors.

On the Rainy River, walleye catch better in the evening hours. Sturgeon keep one season open through September 30th. Anglers catching sturgeon on circle hooks with gob of crawlers/frozen shiners near river pockets, in front of Timbermill park in Baudette, International Bridge, airport, and some near mouth of river.

Up at the NW Angle, Little Oak and Four Blocks producing a good bite 20-25 feet. Mix of smallmouth and perch in the bag when targeting shorelines. Muskie bite still doing well near weed beds using small lures and slow presentation.  Lodging,  charters and maps at www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com.
