well i found my about 10 yards from where i stopped looking last night. he was in the creek bottom. i found him after about 5 minutes of looking, i was searching for blood and i know they go to water when they wounded, i followed the creek and there he was laying in the water. never have i been so relieved, the arrow struck him in one lung and cut it in half. and caused massive internal bleeding.

i got to the stand  early even though it was warm, i chose to go to the stand in the middle of our east woods because the oaks were raining acorns and i had seen 2 shooters there my first evening in it last weekend. one young buck i call narrows came through around 6:30pm, i had forgot my thermo cell and the mosquitos were driving me crazy so 7:10 i got down to leave. i have to cross a grass field to go across a creek crossing to get to my truck. the deer had been hitting this field hard and fresh scrapes have been showing up, this is super early but when i checked my camera i had noticed multiple rubs and scrapes around. when i got to the field i had seen 2 doe's and narrows was harassing them, they seen me sneak out of the woods and ran off, only they didnt flag or blow they just ran into the next field, i got to the creek bed crossing and seen 2 deer way off, a quick check revealed that one was decent, they were walking straight towards me on the tree line. still watching them the one finally raised his head up and it was definatly a shooter, they stopped to check a scrape and he refreshed it and sparred for a bit and then he continued towards me when they were 50 yards out i was kneeling on the edge of the creek bed i drew, he came into my lane and stopped broadside because he had noticed me, 22 yards away i was nervous i couldnt find him in my peep sight, when i got him in my sight i sent the arrow, just as i did he wheeled around and the rage struck him in the chest, he kicked and took off, i got nervous because i seen where the arrow struck him, i went to look for the arrow and blood. i got to the tree edge and heard crashing, i had made a rookie mistake and jumped him, i found blood and part of my arrow. waited and tracked him. after over a hour i finally gave up for the night. went out the next morning and it only took 5 minutes to find him. not spoiled . he had some ground shrinkage but im happy to take this 3.5 year old buck. 9 pointer mid 120's. my first buck with my bow

 EXCELLENT!!EH! any buck with archery is a trophy! Good goin! If yah need any experienced meat cutter to process it WITH you, I'd be willing to help.My father was a butcher and I been doing it for 53 years first as a side kick then for myself and this time of year for some meat packers.

ya it feels different, sweaty and gutting them when its that hot sucks to, amplified the smell. but never have i been done this early, so gives me lots of time to duck hunt and im thinking about leasing some land in wisconsin so i can continue to hunt.

Great news!! 

Yeah it sucks to be tagged out early, but if your happy with your deer, that's all that matters. You still have plenty of opportunity to get out there for other things. I plan on coyote after I get my deer. (hopefully)

I'll still shoot a doe or 2. But I was just thibking today in the duck blind what I was gonna do. Normally I buy a turkey tag, I guess this year I actually get to focus just on turkey's so I can get my first one
