My favorite time of the year by far to ice fish... so, I played hooky today....

I managed to bang out a limit of big gills! 30 inches of good ice, in 7 feet of water.

Very nice.

 Hit Winnie over the weekend and there was 30 plus inches of ice. The top was honeycombed and water was already coming up before we were halfway through.  The auger was bringing up huge chunks of ice.

My ice season is done for the year.

One last icefishing trip to Cass co.  Decided to try out of the Perch box..   Prob wouldn't have gone on the ice if I was the only one but there were 4 others on the small lake.  I had my float suit on and spikes.  Open water next time in MN.  Trout for dinner tonight.

WOW! Pretty fancy rod and reel combo. Ice fishing tackle sure has changed since I gave up on the sport. Of course that was only a mire 30 yrs. ago. :doah:
