Fishing Report Lakes Oahe/Sharpe Pierre area July 8th Thru 11th 2015

I took repeat customer Kurt Josh and Jake Jones along with friend Mark Moody all from NE. out for a three day outing doing possession limits of nice 17 inch avg size walleye on Lake Oahe. Just a great bunch of guys and we all had a great time. The fish are getting a little deeper as we caught a lot of these fish in 20 to 25 fow however when the wind was going we went in to 10 fow and did well. I am still using nightcrawlers on bottom bouncers but most baits work when you find the fish. That is the key to the lake (finding active fish) right now so my strategy has always been to keep on the move and fish a lot of spots looking for those walleye that are feeding. Sharpe continues to put out limits of nice fish and there is much less boat traffic on the small lake so if that is important to you it is a good choice. I then started my next trip with the Paul Jacobson group of family guys along with NE John and Larry Porter helping me and I took a nice limit of fish on the first day so this trip started off okay. There is a lot of smoke from the Canada fires around (diminishing) and the weather is hot so sun screen and plenty of water in your boat is a must.
